Many dietitians start their careers with a passion for food and health. For Jessica, nutrition became a lifeline after a personal health battle that completely changed her life.


It all began when she was a middle school athlete preparing for track season. What seemed like a simple flu quickly escalated into a life-threatening condition. After passing out unexpectedly, Jessica was rushed to the ER, where doctors discovered her hemoglobin had dropped dangerously low—eventually reaching just 2 (a level considered fatal).


She spent two months in the hospital, enduring:

✔ 11 blood transfusions

✔ Antibody treatments

✔ High-dose steroids (causing 55 lbs of weight gain and severe muscle loss)


Her body recovered, but her energy never seemed to return. No doctor could explain why she still felt exhausted and unwell, even years later. That’s when she turned to nutrition.


Through extensive research and a holistic approach, Jessica found healing and strength through food—sparking a passion for helping others take control of their health through nutrition.


This journey ultimately led her to switch from nursing to dietetics, earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Clinical Nutrition and becoming a certified dietitian and specialist in diabetes care and binge eating recovery.
